ADR Awareness of hazardous substances for hospital, laboratory and clinic staff
ADR 2023 e-learning awareness of hazardous substances by road for employees of hospital, pharmacy, laboratory or clinic.
Employees of hospitals, laboratories, pharmacies and clinics who have a position in the transport of hazardous substances, such as packaging and disposing of hospital waste or sending diagnostic samples, are required to follow at least one position-specific awareness of hazardous substances. The ADR chapter 1.3 states that employees must follow the hazardous substances training.
This obligation has been in effect since 1 July 2011. Each hospital and clinic bears the responsibility for training its employees. You can outsource the training by making use of the awareness training for dangerous substances that is provided by Dangerous Goods Online BV. The training meets the legal requirements for the transport of hazardous substances and the international regulations of ADR 2023.
The training aims to make employees aware of the following points:
- legal prescriptions
- function specific requirements
- safety requirements
The obligation also applies if the hospital or clinic uses temporary staff or agency workers. Both the hospital or clinic and the employee must be able to demonstrate that the awareness training has been followed. The training must be recorded in the personnel file.
